Introducing GoalPlanner: AI That Plans Your Goal, Step by Step
GoalPlanner is the AI planner built into Online Goal Tracker. It proposes the steps to reach your goal, asks when it needs context, and you accept what fits — the plan stays yours.

Short answer: GoalPlanner is the AI planner built into Online Goal Tracker. Point it at a goal and it proposes the next steps — as a connected Goal Plan (GP), not a flat list — asks a question when it needs context, and lets you accept the steps that fit. It proposes; you decide. Nothing is added to your plan until you say so.
The problem it solves
Most goals stall at the blank page. You know the outcome — "grow the newsletter", "ship the app" — but not the first three steps, and a to-do list won't tell you. GoalPlanner removes that blank page: it reads your goal and the plan you have so far, and suggests where to go next.
How GoalPlanner works
It proposes — you accept
Ask GoalPlanner from the goal, or from any single step ("what comes after this?"). It returns a few suggested milestones as dotted, provisional nodes on the canvas. They are previews: they aren't part of your plan until you click to add them. Accept the good ones, ignore the rest.
It builds a Goal Plan (GP), not a checklist
Suggestions come back in order, with their dependencies. Steps that must happen in sequence are chained; work that can run at the same time is marked to run in parallel — so you can see the real path to the goal and what shortens it. Accept a later step and GoalPlanner adds the ones it depends on first, correctly connected.
It asks when it needs to
When the answer would change the shape of the plan — scope, audience, a constraint — GoalPlanner asks a short question, tagged to the exact step it's about, with a few likely answers you can pick in one tap. Your answer is saved to that step, so the next suggestion is sharper. It only asks what the plan doesn't already answer.
Nothing changes without your confirmation
When an answer would edit something already in your plan, GoalPlanner shows a before-and-after diff and waits. You apply it or discard it. The AI never quietly rewrites your work.
Why "you decide" is the point
Plenty of tools will generate a whole plan in one shot and hand you a wall of tasks to prune. GoalPlanner is deliberately the opposite: small, reviewable suggestions you steer one at a time, so the finished plan reflects your intent — enriched by the AI, not replaced by it. That's why every suggestion is a dotted preview and every edit is a diff you confirm.
Try it
GoalPlanner lives on the plan canvas of any goal. Create a goal, open its plan, and ask GoalPlanner what comes next. If you'd like the manual method first, read how to break a big goal into steps — GoalPlanner is that method, automated, with you in the loop.
Try it in seconds
Online Goal Tracker is free: set a goal, break it into steps, and track it on any device. Progress saves instantly.
